Multi-Disciplinary Team

Teamwork icon.jpg

School staff work closely with the clinicians from St. Michael’s House. Our Multi-Disciplinary Student Support Team may comprise Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Play Therapists, Physiotherapists, school Nurses, complex & critical care Liaison Nurses, Respite Services, Dietician and Paediatric doctors.

The Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meets monthly with the school Principal and teachers. Following a Referral [agreed to or requested by Parents/Guardians], Clinicians on the MDT provide help and support to students and families, either on an individual clinician basis or as part of a combined clinical team. The clinical response and support is coordinated by the St. Michael's House Clinical Coordinator assigned to this school. Interventions and support may be delivered on a 1:1 basis, as part of a group or class and/or at home with families, according to the need of the individual student and available resources.
